Brandaris without light 1-1-2018
On January 1, 2018, the Brandaris lighthouse ran out of light. Rarely is there a malfunction. The last time the light in the Brandaris did not work was in January 2009 when emergency lighting was switched on, which did not rotate and did not reach as far as the real lighthouse light. On January 2, 2018, the light was repaired again. In this film interviews with: Sytse Schoustra, manager 't Wakend Oog, weather photographer, Richard Gorter, captain of the merchant navy and former register pilot, Jan van Rees, nautical traffic controller at the Brandaris Traffic Center. The images were used for Fryslân Hjoed by Omrop Fryslân and one scene was used in the NOS Journaal at 8:00 PM, both on January 2, 2018.
